Celebrate with St. Phoebe in the Month of her Feast Day

Basilica Liturgies – Saturday, September 23 & Sunday, September 24

During the Basilica liturgies the weekend of September 23 & 24, we will pray in a special way with St. Phoebe. We will ask her intercession for the Global Synod and the ongoing discernment that our pope and the universal church are currently undertaking within it. These deliberations include calls by the Vatican for the People of God to receive and discern the will of the Holy Spirit about “rethinking women’s participation” in Catholic leadership and ministry. In response to this call, The Basilica will have a woman offer a reflection on the scriptures at all Masses on September 23 and 24. We are joining over 150 parishes throughout the country (including 8 in the Archdiocese) in listening in a special way to the voice of women in the church.
