Join Fr. Daniel Griffith and Laurel Guntzel for a special session designed to help participants process grief and find healing in the aftermath of tragedy.
Laurel is a counselor at the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis campus and earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University. She also holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, with a concentration in Feminist Theology & Ritual. Laurel is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
Laurel uses a transpersonal, developmental, multicultural, and mindfulness-based approach, drawing largely from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and EMDR. Common themes in therapy include meaning-making of trauma, grief, or suffering; defending against the inner critic; addressing family and relationship concerns; navigating identity issues, and developing emotional capacity and flexibility. Laurel lives in Minneapolis with her spouse, two teenage sons, and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, walking the lakes, and traveling.
