The Basilica of Saint Mary will celebrate an Archdiocesan Mass of Solidarity in support of our migrant and refugee brothers and sisters around the globe. The celebration with Bishop Williams will include a Dakota Blessing; a diverse mix of musical styles and dance with Aztec and Vietnamese Dancers; Cameroon, Karen and Latino choirs and musicians.
Pope Francis issued a message for the 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees to be observed Sunday, September 24, 2023, asking us “to see in the migrant not simply a brother or sister in difficulty, but Christ himself, who knocks at our door.”
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis is home to more than 800,000 Catholics celebrating Mass regularly in 11 different languages. All are invited to share the richness of their culture by wearing the clothes of their native culture or ethnicity.
