Parish Packing Event – Every Meal

Help fight hunger – Did you know that in Minnesota there are over 300,000 children living in food insecurity? Let’s take a bite out of this statistic!

Join us to pack kits for Every Meal, a local organization that focuses on closing the “food gaps” that children face during weekends, summers, and extended breaks. We will be packing their Green Bag which is tailored to offer the widest variety of food items, this bag may contain items such as chicken, tuna, pasta, rice, mac and cheese, chili/soup, and varied vegetables and fruits.

We will be packing on Sunday, August 17 after 9:30am Mass in the Teresa of Calcutta Hall, lower level.

The session will last around 45 minutes (10:45 to 11:30am).

This is a family-friendly event.  Children 7 and above are welcome to pack accompanied by an adult.

We are proud to partner with Every Meal as we work together to fight child hunger and help kids with a reliable source of nutrition which plays a major role in improving grades, decreasing social and behavioral problems and increasing self-esteem. Every Meal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight child hunger. We focus on filling the food gaps children face, especially on weekends when they’re not able to eat school meals. Through our primary Weekend Meal Program, children in Pre-K through 8th grade experiencing food insecurity receive weekend food bags directly and discreetly in their backpacks at about 375 schools across Minnesota.
