Loving God,
you have given us life, cared for us and guided us
through our mothers, our stepmothers, our adoptive mothers, our foster mothers, our grandmothers, and numerous other women who have touched our lives.
We thank you for their love, their care, and the wisdom they have so generously shared with us.
Bless them abundantly and give them all they need.
Open their ears so they may hear your voice ever more clearly,
open their eyes so they may recognize you in others ever more eagerly,
open their hearts so they may follow you ever more faithfully,
and let their example inspire all of us.
In turn, help us to honor them with profound respect and boundless love, today and every day.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
