The Basilica of Saint Mary community celebrates with the world today at the announcement of Pope Leo XIV leading the Catholic Church.
Fr. Daniel Griffith stated, “What joyful and exciting news! The new Pope is an American with a background in Catholic Social Teaching. Please pray for our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.”
As a sign of celebration, Vatican City State colors, yellow and white, have been draped above the doors of The Basilica.
