Blessing of the Engaged Couple. The Blessing of the Engaged, which is part of the new Rite of Marriage, is part of The Basilica’s marriage preparation process. To celebrate your Engagement—and the important commitment you make to one another, as well as the holy sacrament for which you are preparing—we, The Basilica Community requests that you, your family and friends attend this special Blessing so we may pray with and for you. We encourage you to attend the date closest to your engagement, but if that is not possible, please attend any of the scheduled dates. Following the Blessing, we will host a short reception to give all an opportunity to celebrate together. The Blessing will be in The Basilica choir stalls, unless numbers exceed the space, in which case we will move to the main Church.
Temperament Retreat. This half-day retreat is designed as an opportunity to learn more about yourself and each other. We will review the ARNO Profiles each of you completed and focus on communications, understanding each other's needs, and respecting and working with your specific strengths and weaknesses. Cost is $200/couple. ARNO Temperament Questionnaries must be completed online at least 2 weeks prior to the retreat date to allow for processing.

PREPARE Inventory Review Workshop. This all-day workshop is where you will receive your PREPARE Inventory results and review them through guided couple discussions with The Basilica staff, and Marriage Mentor couples from the parish. There is no cost. Inventories must be completed online at least 2 weeks prior to the workshop date to allow for processing. Specific directions will be emailed to you.
This meeting is typically held at the Basilica. Registration information is available at MyBasilica under the Marriage Preparation User Group. Please register for the date closest to your completion of the online Inventory.
Wedding Workshop. This two-hour workshop provides the practical information about The Basilica's liturgical guidelines for couples. You will receive resources to aid in the planning of your cememony - scripture readings, music, and other ritual aspects. You also will meet the staff involved in preparing and coordinating your rehearsal and liturgy. There is no cost, and no pre-class work.
