Statement of The Basilica of Saint Mary and Fr. Daniel Griffith, Pastor
Today is a very sad day in Minneapolis, in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and throughout the Twin Cities community. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of those who were killed and to those who were injured in the school shooting today at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. We pray to our God of consolation and we ask St. Mary’s prayers on behalf of the Annunciation Catholic community and on behalf of our broader community.
Our heartfelt prayers and spiritual closeness are extended to those who are grieving, to those who have been injured, and to all those who are suffering at this time. As people of faith and people of the Twin Cities community, we will come together in prayer and in working for greater justice and peace in our communities, our nation, and throughout the world. May we all know that God loves us deeply, cherishes each life God has preciously made, and calls all of us to true fraternity and peace.
